Money and Opportunity are Everywhere

December 28, 2014 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

A young acquaintance recently posted on Facebook that she has been going through some challenging times. She and the man in her life have been focused on getting their financial lives in order, but as chance would have it, they have their eggs in a controversial basket – making an honest living providing Uber services. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, something did and now they have to rebuild their finances again. This young woman came to mind this morning because of a question she put out into the universe: Who would hire a woman so far along in her pregnancy? I might have passed over this comment, however, there’s an important teaching moment in this.

You see, you and I, in fact, everyone has a negative mental default setting. Until we take the time to retrain our brains, they automatically go there whenever we face something new and unknown, or out of our comfort zone. It stops most of us from ever taking any risks or examining potential ideas that could bring a positive change into our lives.

Now, I’m not saying that there are plenty of employers looking to hire someone who is about to go on maternity leave. Rather, I am suggesting that she might recognize that she is going to a negative place without exploring what she could do to keep her financial life on track over the next 6 months or so. That would give her enough time to have the baby and a comfortable period with her new child before she decides what she wants to do next.

If you are in this kind of a position, the key question to ask is what product or service can I provide that is of value to others? What do I like to do – that I can do part time or at home – that others need? What am I willing to do just to have an income for the next 6 months? Are friends or neighbors telling me about something or are there classified ads in the free penny saver newspapers? Is there something online?

Put aside all your negative thoughts about money and work while you allow yourself to recognize that money and opportunity are everywhere if your eyes are open to see and your ears open to hear.

When I was facing economic challenges, I gave myself permission to take any kind of work I could that would bring an immediate source of income requiring no start up fees. For a very brief period of time, I provided telemarketing services for an hourly minimum wage, paid weekly. It wasn’t much, but it gave me money for food and gasoline in my car which then gave me enough to travel for other opportunities.

These jobs exist in any number of places. Think back to the women who provided simple services to people in town to earn money for their families. At the most basic, they might take in laundry, mend clothes, babysit, open a boarding house and provide personal services running errands for friends and neighbors for a fee. Now that we have phones and Internet, we are able to do so much more – telemarketing, network marketing and Internet marketing. You can open a virtual store from home and there are virtual job options like elance.com and fiverr.com where you can use your skills from the comfort of home to help someone else.

Who knows? The uncomfortable situation that caused you to explore these possibilities might be the beginning of a whole new line of work that is much more lucrative and pleasant that working for someone else. It is certainly gives you more options than collecting the small amounts available through government assistance.

The New Year is almost upon us. If you are looking for extra or any income, take these few days to think about it. Look at yourself. If money and opportunity are everywhere, how can you take advantage of that?

And while you’re at it, let’s develop a new, more positive thought routine for 2015.

To Your Success,

Susan

Reporting in: I am where I am and it’s okay

November 10, 2013 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

I am surprised to see how long it has been since I last posted here. Life has taken me off on a creative journey that has consumed every waking moment – and probably quite a few sleeping moments as well. I am happy to report that I am pleased with where I am now. It has taken several years to move from the night of the landslide through the rebuilding process, yet today, I stand at a place of infinite possibility.

You would think it would be enough to have found a ranch to replace the one we lost or to be part of a daily morning show like “Home and Family” that airs on Hallmark Channel. But that was only a piece of the puzzle.

Along the way, I became fascinated with the creative process. What did we do to make the ranch a reality? How could I learn to do that consciously? How could I help others do it too? I had studied to become a life coach, then refined my studies to understand the power of the mind and success principles as one of Bob Proctor’s LifeSuccess Consultants. Bob encouraged each of his students to write a book, but who was I to write? What could I write that would have meaning for anyone else?

In the end, I decided to translate an outline of the creative process into real life experience. The old adage held true – if you really want to know a subject, teach others about it. I set out to live what I was learning and share that journey. It was painful at times as I wrestled with the application of new ideas on old paradigms. Whenever I hit a roadblock in my understanding that interfered with the writing, new experiences would crop up to help me learn what was needed to move forward.

It took time to write, but after working with the editors at Balboa Press, I expect to place the resulting book titled “Rainbows Over Ruins” in physical production shortly. There will also be a free e-workbook available for anyone who would like to be mentored on their own creative journey while reading my story.

“Rainbows Over Ruins” is what one of my colleagues calls a Siddhartha journey. Along the way, I learned that the creative process embodies success principles. Creativity is an intimate dance with quantum consciousness, the interplay of conscious ideas, questions, and feelings with the power of the subconscious mind to take action and get results.

As I prepare to update listings to reflect my new status as author, I feel a bit like Indiana Jones, about to step off at a leap of faith location. I am so grateful for the support of my many mentors and colleagues. We have to do things on our own, but we do not do them alone. In that spirit, I offer the following question to get your juices flowing. Why do you want to create what you want today?

To Your Success,

Susan

The Power of the Mind

February 6, 2011 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

I’ve been thinking a great deal about the power of the mind to create opportunities lately.  As a LifeSuccess Consultant and Life coach, the majority of my work involves explaining how this power works, and then facilitating the application of this power in a certain way to obtain the results people want.  I find myself fascinated by the process.  It’s a creative process.  In fact, you could say it’s the process of creation itself.

Here we sit in a vast ocean of thought energy.  We’re not just surrounded by it, it permeates every cell of our being.  The philosophers tell us that everything begins with an idea.  Everything is the world started as an idea, from the creation to the acquisition of the things that surround us, the environment and the situations in which we find ourselves. I heard a statistic that 80,000 thoughts pass across the screen of our minds per day.  Then one thought resonates with us, gets us excited and we start to play with it.

In the LifeSuccess programs, we work with this process of the mind to consciously obtain the results we want.  One of the key steps involved is to hold the idea we like continuously. to concentrate on it while we play with it and imagine what it would be like to have what we envision.  What would our lives be like?  What would change?  What do these results mean to us?  When you think about it enough, you take action and the actions product results.

The challenge in this process is that it may not happen overnight.  People give up when they should persist in the pursuit of their goal until the idea of it as they envision it becomes the dominant thought and all the pieces can come together.  For some people, this can happen almost overnight.  For others, it is slower.  Like getting our ranch.

I now live on a lovely ranch, however, it took my husband and I eighteen months to get here.  We had just lost our home to a landslide.  We had no idea how we would move forward.  What we did know was that we wanted to replace our home with a new one that supported our lifestyle.  We went shopping every week, even when we had no idea of where to get the money, given the circumstances.  We held the idea.  We got to know the area, had time to envision what the ideal ranch would offer us.  We held the idea, worked with all the pieces of the puzzle until they came together.  I became a believer.

You can do it.  You can create opportunity.  If you doubt that, then we should talk.  Those limiting paradigms can really get in your way.  We can change them.  We can open your eyes to the field of all possibilities and experience the awesome power of the mind.

  • “What I appreciate about you is your sincere and great generosity of spirit. You have an almost unlimited tolerance for the foibles of others and manage to find humor in some of the most trying circumstances. I can always count on you to give me an honest, balanced assessment of whatever is happening privately or globally. You never stagnate. You’re always seeking ways to make your life better and more meaningful. That is inspirational to me.”

  • “Susan uses her whole brain when crafting solutions. She knows how to visualize the result she wants and then build the structure to support the dream. She constantly prods people who are stuck in one way of seeing something into realizing new paths to take up the mountains of success. Now she is willing to share her unique approach to creating success systems with people who are ready to go the next level in their business and personal lives. I would sign up for her seminars and coaching program quickly because once the word gets out the waiting list is going to be long. I can’t think of anyone else I would trust more with creating the logistics for launching a new endeavor. Susan knows how to create successful enterprises and she is willing to coach you to your next success.”

Rainbows Over Ruins walks you through a spiritual journey that is not focused on the ‘out there’ but more on the ‘in here.’ How do we transition from one phase of our lives while allowing ourselves to grow from what we have learned from the past? Susan helps you help yourself.”

  • “Calm, Serenity, Wisdom, Patience, Empathy. These are the characteristics that I think of, when I think of you. Throughout our relationship, you have always “shared only and freely” with me. You have never been judgmental (of anyone really) or unkind with words. Your ability to take in all the information surrounding a situation, process it in a kind, loving and logical way and then interpret the information back in such a way that I feel that I too can learn and grow from the experience, whether it was mine or not. Susan, I believe that you are a conduit, maybe not the right word…a channel…o.k. I laymen’s terms, you are the glue that holds us all together. If I were ever in a crisis…I’d want you to be with me more than anyone I know.”
