Ready to Rebuild Your Life?

March 21, 2015 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

I’m ready to help. After taking the past couple months to complete the 30-Day Podcast Challenge, the podcast is official! The series is live – and the first 3 episodes are available through iTunes and Stitcher. The series is all about helping you rebuild your life, whatever your personal disaster may be. I describe it in the One Sheet that tells people about the show, especially publicists and potential guests. Our Home and Family publicist read it for me and gave it his blessing – thank you, Alfred – so I’d like to share it here so you’ll get a better idea of what it’s all about.

“REBUILDING YOUR LIFE: MOVING FROM DISASTER TO PROSPERITY” with Susan Sherayko is a podcast where we help you transform your life by changing what you’re telling yourself. We engage in discussion with those who have experienced a disaster, as well as those who help us come through the experience. We look at what they did to heal, rebuild, and where they are now.

REBUILDING YOUR LIFE… will share stories with you, bring in experts in contemporary brain research and various kinds of positive self-talk, and provide action steps that can help you discover the truth of this information over the course of this series.

Natural disasters such as fire, flood, earthquake and landslides; financial disasters where we lose everything; lost relationships; bad marriages and business failures — What they all seem to have in common is that disasters come suddenly, unexpectedly and beyond your control. The effect is devastating, affecting every aspect of your life – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. In a flash, you lose all that you have created – or accumulated – around you. Your sense of security vanishes and for a period of time you are in shock, only to experience fear and a sense of powerlessness when the shock wears off.

However, we have the ability to overcome the negative situations and feelings of despair, fear and doubt that accompany disasters. This is where you find out how. Whatever the circumstances, – whether you feel powerless over your finances, health, bad habits, physical destruction, or relationships – you do have the power to turn your thoughts in a positive direction and rebuild your life.

REBUILDING YOUR LIFE…is hosted by two time Emmy nominated producer and author Susan Sherayko. She knows the subject intimately – inside and out. She’s been through this. Susan used these principles to get past the after effects of her disaster. A LifeSuccess consultant and Power Habits coach, her book Rainbows Over Ruins describes how she applied success principles, the creative thought process and positive self-talk in her own life to overcome the after effects of a landslide.

REBUILDING YOUR LIFE… That’s what this series is all about. Whatever your circumstances, you too can experience health, financial security and a sense of well-being once again. You can rebuild and move on to something even better. You can overcome the physical problems, fears and grieving, the mental challenges and negative thought habits that hold you prisoner.

Are you ready to move from disaster to prosperity? The time to start is now, right where you are. Tune in – and let’s start getting you back on your feet right now – not in the distant future.

Produced by Susan Sherayko, the REBUILDING YOUR LIFE: MOVING FROM DISASTER TO PROSPERITY podcast is available iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/rebuilding-your-life-moving/id975055547 as well as Stitcher http://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=62871&refid=stpr

So there you have it. That’s what I’ve been developing for the past couple months during the 30 Day Podcast Challenge.

I now invite you to tune in and listen to the first podcasts in the series, like it, follow it or subscribe to the RSS feed. I would greatly appreciate it if you would become one of the first ambassadors to get the word out about the series, especially if you know anyone who is going through challenging times.

May you and yours discover the miracle of positive self-talk as part of your journey – whether you want to put a disaster behind you or embrace a powerful path to prosperity.

I’ll be traveling with you,

Susan

Going Viral with Appreciation

November 29, 2014 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

Did you feel it? My inbox and social media sites have been filled with expressions of gratitude as we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the States.

Since the publication of Rainbows Over Ruins, I often hear from people who have been inspired by my story. After all, if I can survive the after effects of a landslide, and go on to thrive, others can hold onto the possibility that they can too – in all areas of life. They can use the road map I have shared in order to come to understand the power of their minds and retrain their thinking. They can start to grasp the creative process.

Still, when you are in the midst of a crisis, where do you begin? I used to ask myself, how do people pull themselves up by the bootstraps when they have no boots? And the answer was to imagine the boots. It may be a little too simplistic, but imagination is one of the great powers of the mind. Over time, I’ve found that our imagination yields richer results when we open its treasures with an attitude of gratitude and appreciation.

So how do we start? How do we express a sense of appreciation when we are at a low ebb in our emotional life? Here it is. Take the time to appreciate one thing in your life that makes you feel better, brings joy or a hint of well-being every day.

There is an immediate shift in the energy you are putting out. The new energies are closer to what you want to be feeling. The magnetism of that improved frequency draws more of the same. The more you do it, the more you attract.

One of the cornerstones of my meditative work is to express gratitude. I have been following someone’s suggestion that I look for 10 things every day for which I am thankful. Sometimes I have to stretch to think of so many things, but I focus on this feeling as it opens me to new and wonderful ideas during the rest of the day. It does not matter what it may be – a moment of rest and relaxation, sunshine, rain, food, shelter, loved ones, being greeted by a happy pet, solitude, friendship, a new inspired thought, a surprise gift, the opportunity to give to others, goals achieved, the ability to work toward my goals, the connection to consciousness and on and on. The key is to express your appreciation every day.

So what are you happy for today? What are you grateful for? What do you appreciate? If you are looking for an action step to improve your life, grab a pen, pencil or crayon and memorialize it in your journal or drawing pad – even on the back of a napkin. And keep doing it. If you’d like to spread the sense of appreciation to others, send me a comment, make a You-tube video, let the people who serve you know that they are appreciated. Let’s keep the feeling of Thanksgiving going. Let’s go viral with the feeling of appreciation.

May you share your love in the form of appreciation to all around you today.

To Your Success,

Susan

The Secret to Achieving Success is Simply SHOWING UP

July 24, 2014 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

This morning as I perused my email inbox, I noticed a theme to the subject lines. There were several about persistence. John Maxwell had sent a daily message to “keep on keeping on…Those who quit never succeed…never make it to the top.”

And yesterday, while showing a colleague around the ranch, the topic turned to the importance of continuing to “apply pressure.” Keith had read Rainbows Over Ruins and it was his way of explaining what Peter and I have done to accomplish our goals. It was a good way to put it. I call it focus.

In the book, I apply this pressure in a number of ways daily. Gentle or intense, the point is to keep the vision in mind and do at least one thing every day that can help move you toward achieving that goal.

Sounds simple, right? It is. As Jim Rohn would say, “simple to do, simple not to do.”

One of the things that I have discovered through my personal journey is that as a result of consistent focus, many opportunities appear. I may be going along nicely and then begin to notice points of strain, a feeling of completion of one goal while still unclear about the next step. It makes me uneasy. In fact, it is as if my focus is being pulled off course – which it is. For example, Rainbows Over Ruins has just been published. The next progressive step is to promote the book, letting people know about it and, in the process, my work on the subject. However, publication has created a void. The energy I had focused on publication needs to be redirected and I am aware of a flood of projects vying for my attention.

For a time, this makes it challenging to maintain your focus while you go through a process of discernment. You need to ask yourself which action or choice feels most likely to bring you the results that best match your long term vision or short term goal. It is not unusual for the best choice to also include an aspect of personal growth that will require you to reach outside your comfort zone. All of which can be very uncomfortable.

Why is it important to develop your personal process of discernment? You can save yourself a great deal of suffering if you recognize the source of agitation or contrast when it comes up and immediately begin to ask positive, open questions. Why? What if? The answers are often in the questions.

I now pay attention to those feelings. I remember Bob Proctor telling us that we aren’t living close enough to the edge of possibilities unless we feel that way. The discomfort comes from not having made the choice. Once you make it, once you decide the best course of action, you move into action mode and dive right in. The stress reduces and you know where to place your immediate focus once again.

If you are feeling this way, I challenge you to carve out some quiet time to look at your discomforts today and ask what you would prefer. Ask yourself why this preference makes you feel better as you go about your business, doing the next presented thing, maintaining the pressure right where you are while you wait for the answer to come.

To Your Success,

Susan

WHO IS HOLDING YOU ACCOUNTABLE

March 14, 2011 By ssherayko Leave a Comment

Anyone who reads my blogs must have an idea that I’ve been a fan of Napoleon Hill for decades. It began with his quote: “Anything the human mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Likewise, I mention that according to The Law of Success, all the principles of success can work for anyone as long as they have a purpose and a plan. As a coach, that translates first and foremost into identifying what people want – their purpose. Before we can make any progress, we have to create the vision.

Not that I want to beat a dead horse, but we have to see where people are and where they want to go. Bob Proctor, who began his stellar career through the study of Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich, is known for this expression. He developed a program in his learning system called The Goal Achiever. A first step in the personal development process, it is an excellent program to determine what your goals are.

Then it’s time for a process that leads to those goals. Preparing the plan is not just an exercise in goal setting. It is also part of coming to believe that what we envision is possible. Belief and faith are important aspects of the Attitude we need to move to the next level. When we cannot see ‘how’ we will attain our goals, it is easy to become discouraged and give up, but a plan provides us with tangible Actions we can take to achieve the specific goals that lead to the accomplishment of our purpose.

Why is it then that even when armed with marvelous plans, we fail to Achieve? David Byrd and Mark Smith write that it is failing to persist in the small actions that are needed every day in order to be successful, the 5 things that Jack Canfield talks about in creating Chicken Soup for the Soul. And why do we fail to persist? We don’t have a system for Accountability.

The idea behind accountability is that someone listens to your goals and action plans, records your target dates and then helps you stay aware of your progress toward your goal through some means of regular communication. Just knowing that someone is going to expect you to accomplish something by a given date is a strong incentive to get the tasks done on time. Knowing this, network marketing organizations have built accountability into their management systems to help their colleagues perform better. Although we can do this on our own, it is greatly facilitated by working with a coach or mentor. Conversely, being able to meander toward your goals delays their accomplishment. It is so easy to put things off and let procrastination rule the day. Given enough delay, the goals you have set for yourself may lose all their energy and be forgotten entirely.

So if you had an opportunity to use an intensive accountability program to significantly accelerate your progress toward your goals, would you be interested? It’s common to use 30 Day Challenges in coaching programs. Many sales training programs are built around 90 Day cycles. And the “Goals Guy” is reported to be helping people make incredible progress by utilizing a special 100 day accountability process.

Perhaps you would benefit from signing up for a program or a business with strong personal development training that would help you break through the issues that were holding you back in a given area. I have several people in my life who help me be accountable – when I’m learning something new like e-commerce or undertaking a new income stream.

What would you want to change in your life? What’s holding you back? What new skill could empower you to new possibilities? You may want to find an accountability coach, both to ask questions that help you discover the next bold step toward your goal as well as to hold your hand and help you to reach new heights. Happy flying!

  • “Calm, Serenity, Wisdom, Patience, Empathy. These are the characteristics that I think of, when I think of you. Throughout our relationship, you have always “shared only and freely” with me. You have never been judgmental (of anyone really) or unkind with words. Your ability to take in all the information surrounding a situation, process it in a kind, loving and logical way and then interpret the information back in such a way that I feel that I too can learn and grow from the experience, whether it was mine or not. Susan, I believe that you are a conduit, maybe not the right word…a channel…o.k. I laymen’s terms, you are the glue that holds us all together. If I were ever in a crisis…I’d want you to be with me more than anyone I know.”
